We are overdue for a newsletter and knew we were really late when several people questioned whether they had been taken off the list. Funny enough while selling has been good we have really been buying a lot from private customers; several big estates have been time consuming.
We realized we hadn't had a photo of Jane Mangeri and Sochi Sim. Most of you know Jane as she has been with us for almost 11 years and totally runs our office and she is in charge of all billing. Sochi has been with us for 1 1/2 years and is in charge of all repairs, and helps with both sales and shows.

JANE

SOCHI
As many of you may know Hobby Holmes is getting married to Taylor Cole in October. With planning a destination wedding (Italy) and organizing the move to and decorating of their new apartment, Hobby has decided she can not work fulltime anymore. She will continue to help us with shows and will be available to clients on a by appointment basis. Hobby has been with us for abot 8 years and we feel great sadness not to have her here all the time. She has been a very important part of our organization and we treasure her. In true Hobby style, she has found her replacement, to whom we will introduce you in the next newsletter.
SCHLUMBERGER BRACELETS
We are very lucky to get two Schlumberger enamel bracelets in very good condition, one green and one blue. They retail for $18,500 each.

CORAL VAN CLEEF & ARPELS EARRINGS
We are also excited to buy a pair of the Rose-de-Noël earrings by Van Cleef and Arpels in angelskin coral. These retailed at $26,200 but are not made any more due to difficulties in finding the coral.

SEAMAN SCHEPPS HORSEMAN BROOCH
There is always interest in Seaman Schepps pieces. This brooch is a little wooden horseman with coral, pearls and a small emerald. 20B259

CORAL NECKLACE
A gorgeous strand of coral beads, 9 3/4 mm to 18 3/4 mm. It has a pave diamond clasp. 18N807

PARROT BROOCH
I adore this parrot with his coral beak, turquoise body and little diamond eyes. He is from the 50's.

CARTIER PEAR BROOCH
We paid up for this gold brooch, not a stone to be seen, probably from the late Forties, New York. Gus and I were both mad for it. It is simply divine!

BUCCELLATI BAND
We have gotten a great Buccellatti band, size 6 1/4, little diamonds in white gold set in yellow. 20R222

UPCOMING SHOWS
We will be doing the NY Antique & Watch Show, July 28 - 31, 11am - 7pm, Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street. While this show is mainly geared to the trade it is open to the public and we'd love to see you if you are in town.
MISCELLANEOUS
You may think I'm nuts but I would like to recommend that you go see Mamma Mia if you haven't done so already. I've found there are many, like me, who just said they'd see it tomorrow and never did. You have to like ABBA's music, which I love, but you will have a wonderful time and leave smiling. The cast is superb even though the show just had its 5-year anniversary. I went recently with my goddaughter Juliette from France and we both agreed it was the best time we'd ever had at a musical. Three weeks later I went with Jean and he loved it too. It is playing at the Winter Garden Theater at 1634 Broadway and 50th Street.
The Adlers (David & France Michelle) took me recently to Da Filippo on Second Avenue at 69th Street, 212.472.6688. It's been around quite a while but is quite delicious and serves a spectacular branzino.
Must Read - A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini the author of the Kite Runner. This is a very special book also about Afghanistan, but told from two women's viewpoint.
SeamlessWeb a wonderful service unique to NY for the present. SeamlessWeb has a huge network of restaurants signed up to deliver lunch or dinner. You can sort by location and type of cuisine, order it on the computer and put on credit card, tip included. Each restaurant's menu can be pulled up on the computer. It is so easy...we use it every day.
Alas, at the end of July, our beloved zip code of 10021 will change to 10065. My personal zip code will also change to 10065, while Gus' s will remain 10021. The post office will deliver with the old address for a year, but we urge you to change it now, especially if you're sending us a package.
I have been consumed with my new little cat, Abba. Noël and Gus surprised me with her at the beginning of June. She is a little chinchilla Persian who was abandoned and rescued by a friend of Noël's. Alas she had various health problems which were scary but she seems to be thriving now under mine and Jean's loving care, ably aided by Barbara. As you can see, her little front leg in the rear looks like she is wearing a bootie. It had to be shaved for the I.V. when she was in the hospital, where she saw the kitty neurologist, the kitty opthamologist, etc. Don't ask!

ABBA
Noël also has a new little cat called Cleo, who is a pale orange Persian and is quite a lively one.
