RETRO RACELETS
Two retro bracelets we recently bought. Both are 14k and made about 1940-1945.
21A060. A pinkish gold bracelet with alternating links that are somewhat bow-shaped.
20A311. A flat geometric link bracelet.
EARRINGS
20E856. These are fabulous earrings that look as if they should be signed. They are 18k gold and black enamel and very nicely made.
Chic earrings of our own design, one in wood and 18k gold (21E081) and one in white agate (21E079) they also come in crystal and gold.
NECKLACES
Long necklaces are the rage and somehow just look right with today's fashions.
Another interesting note is that purple, i.e. amethyst is back in the fashion picture. I bought a lavender cashmere sweater two years ago and it has become a favorite. Last week Ann Free walked in with the most divine brownish purple coat I'd seen in ages and her saleswoman at Neiman's in Washington found it for me in their Las Vegas store, on sale no less. Bee Birch (202.966.9700 / Designer Sportswear) is her name and if they've got it, she can find it.
20N945. Lovely 19th century necklace.
20N940. A pair, twisted gold oval and round links, one with malachite and one with tiger's eye.
BIG BROOCHES
20B973. A big textured 18k gold brooch.
21B009. A gold and multicolored pearl brooch with a sprinkling of diamonds. It is so hard to find a pearl brooch that is not matronly. This is one that succeeds and is very fashionable.
RINGS
19R023. Gold and diamond twisted knot ring with 2.40 cts.
20R855. A gold and blue enamel ring.
20R619. Beautifully made, a great gift item; a pretty pink tourmaline set in gold.
PLATINUM AND DIAMOND
20E641. These platinum and diamond earrings are not old but they are a big big look for the money, each has little pave diamond hearts accented with tapered baguettes.
A pair of Art Deco diamond clips set in platinum with approximately 7 carats of diamonds. Perfect for those holiday parties.
PEARLS
20A943. An Edwardian natural pearl, platinum and diamond bracelet. This is a beauty, in perfect condition.
21E004. A fabulous Mississippi River pearl earrings, with diamond centers, about 1.52 cts total weight. These are sometimes called dogtooth pearls and you can see why. More often we find brooches but the earrings are very rare.
CUFFLINKS AND DRESS SETS
Let's not forget the men in your life. We have chosen a range of looks and prices and this is only a small sample of our wares.
20C927. A pair of enamel and vermeil chain cufflinks. The links depict the card suits in black and red enamel. English, Deakin and Francis.
20C956. A pair of vermeil cufflinks. The spring back links have a green enamel oval center surrounded by a blue star motif, against a green enamel background with vermeil dots. English, Deakin and Francis.
20C954. A pair of 18k yellow gold pigs head cufflinks. The heads have movable ears, diamond eyes and a red enamel tongue. The spring back is designed as the back of the pig with a curled tail. English, Deakin and Francis.
17C260. A pair of 18k yellow gold, diaspro and ruby cufflinks. Italian.
21C035. A pair of silver and enamel spring back cufflinks. The links are designed with a blue enamel background featuring a yellow vintage car. English, Deakin and Francis.
19C616. A pair of silver, blue enamel and yellow enamel golf bag cufflinks. English, Deakin and Francis.
20S426. A sterling silver dress set with navy blue centers and a lighter blue enamel border. The dress set consists of two spring back cufflinks with four matching studs. English, Deakin and Francis.
18S942. A dress set of 18k yellow gold, mother of pearl and diamonds. The cufflinks are double sided with mother of pearl and a diamond in the center of similar design. English.
19S287. An 18k yellow gold, emerald and carved coral dress set. The cufflinks are designed as carved coral dome shaped links, each centered with an emerald and on side a coral bar. The four studs are designed to match.

STAFF HOLIDAY GIFT RECOMMENDATIONS
CAMILLA
Books of course. For children, Steve Martin has written the most fun book called The Alphabet from A to Y With Bonus Letter Z. It is charmingly illustrated by Roz Chast and is recommended for ages 4 to 8. Another special children's book is Orion the Miracle Kitty. This little cat suffers a snake bite and as he fights to survive, children learn about loving and caring for a pet. For grownups just wanting to chill over the holidays, two good reads by favorites of mine; Stone Cold by David Baldacci and Protect and Defend by Vince Flynn.
GUS
Private session/sessions at VERVE, an oasis on the Upper East Side for Pilates and other strength training. It is run by Mary Ann Browning, originally from South Africa and recommended by our friend Ronny McMahan. They are professional and caring and make you work. Camilla and I are both going now.
JANE
Clarissa's Cookies — by far the best, best gift ever. I first had them about ten years ago at Annmarie McNamara's and have ordered them as gifts every year since. They are delicious and the funds go to the Capuchin Poor Clare Sisters of Denver.
NOEL
For the heart — over Thanksgiving, I was flipping through Restoration Hardware's gift catalogue and was impressed with all the classic and timeless gifts we all grew up with.
For the NYC spirit — what better way to appreciate what NYC has to offer than to wander over and check out the over 100 local merchants showcasing their holiday wares at the Holiday Market @ Union Square.
For the soul — if you are interested in another kind of giving, with Kiva.org you can make a loan to an entrepreneur in the developing world for as little as $25. They were mentioned in Bill Clinton's 'Giving' book and were on Oprah recently.
ASHLEY
The holiday seasons are about gathering friends and family around. Unfortunately, not everyone is as graceful as you would like! So I love giving personalized or festive coasters from Neiman Marcus so that friends can enjoy decking the halls rather than cleaning them!

I feel sephora.com is great. They have tons of gifty selections for children, women, and men as well. I also like the cute way they do their gift packaging for the holidays. So that's why I go there...one stop shop for all your beauty needs.

Reeva and Camilla Mager introduced me to a wonderful new resource, Elizabeth Friedman, the bra lady. Before deciding to help women get the proper fit in bras, Elizabeth worked in marketing and brand management for Pepsico. You give her some measurements and lifestyle information, and she comes to your home with an enormous load of bras and coordinating thongs, boyshorts etc. She is lovely and really fits you correctly.
