Antique Enamel Snake Diamond Pearl Locket Pendant

An antique 15 karat yellow gold enamel, diamond and seed pearl locket, 19th Century. Decorated on the front with enamel depicting a snake in the grass set with an emerald eye; set on the reverse with a rose cut diamond weighing approximately 1 carat surrounded by 12 seed pearls, set around the rim with sixteen seed pearls in gold collets extending from the body of the locket, the bottom collet suspending a button pearl measuring approximately 3 millimeters. Hand etched with mark reading G8026 yd. Width approximately 1 1/4 inches, length including bale approximately 1 3/4 inches. Gross weight approximately 20.2 grams.
